Goddess asked: I have started my blog on blogger and want to give it its own domain. It is a blog on the same subject as my ebook. Is it better to buy a new domain or use the same domain as I have for the ebook?
Blogger will not accept /blog, but as it happens when the website was created they pointed the main domain to the opt-in page so that can easily be changed to the blog and the opt-in become a subsidiary page like the sales page is.
*So…is there an advantage to having the blog use the same url as my ebook or its own.
*As the blog and ebook will be targeting the same keywords, should I split up the keywords and optimize some to the blog and others to the ebook page?
*Will backlinks from my blog with a different url hold more weight than what would be internal links if the ebook and blog are on the same url?
*AND would the blogger blog then be hosted by Hostgator who already are hosting my site, or would blogger still be doing the hosting of the blog??? This is confusing me a little.
Thanks.
